Preparing for Winter Weather – FlashAlert Community Notifications System Test

FlashAlert is a messaging system that the Corvallis School District uses to send timely alerts to local news media and community subscribers for inclement weather closures and other emergencies.  We will be conducting a test of the alert system on Wednesday, October 16, at 10:00 am.

If you are an active subscriber, the alert will automatically be sent to your selected delivery preference (phone and/or email) with clear indication that it is only a test.  If you do not receive a test alert at 10:00 am on Wednesday, you are not an active subscriber and may not receive future alerts from the District during a real event.  To create or renew your free subscription, you can visit FlashAlert.net at any time to create an account with an email address.
  • To register, visit www.flashalert.net and click on the Willamette Valley region on the map, then click “Benton Co. Schools,” then “Corvallis Scho. Dist.”
  • It is recommended that you download the free FlashAlert app if you have a smartphone, which will ensure you receive the full text of emergency notifications, as some cellular providers limit characters or may delay delivery of alerts due to service area limitations.

Staff and parents/guardians of currently enrolled students will receive a notification through SchoolMessenger, the district’s auto-dial notification system. Please visit the Emergency and School Closure Notifications page for more information. Contact the Corvallis School District central office at 541-757-5811 if you have questions.
