Chef Shakoda Hill has been hired as the Culinary Supervisor, effective August 15th. This is a new position in the Food & Nutrition Services Department, created to develop wholesome menus representing our values around nutrition, sustainability, and diversity.
Chef Hill most recently worked at Oregon State University for 15 years. He worked as a Chef de Cuisine for several dining halls, retail, and catering. Before that, he worked in the private sector for several local restaurants. He holds a Culinary Degree from Le Cordon Bleu from Western Culinary Institute, Portland.
“Chef Shakoda is passionate about serving healthy meals to students and is excited to join the K-12 world,” shared Food & Nutrition Services Manager Tara Sanders. “I had the honor of working with him at OSU and can say he is a modern-day Chef who understands how to empower his team with skills and tools to be successful. We are very fortunate to have him on our team”
