Interim Technology Director Announced

Brian Schaffeld has been hired as the interim technology department director, effective August 11, 2022. Brian will fill the vacancy left by Drew Hinds, who left the district last month to rejoin his family in California.

Brian has been with the Corvallis School District since 2016, beginning as a Computer Lab Assistant and most recently as the Data Integration and Systems Analyst. He also has experience as a classroom teacher, working for five years at Central School District as a bilingual teacher and instructional technology leader. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Software Development from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with a Bilingual/ESOL Endorsement from Western Oregon University.

“Brian brings his technical, communication, and strong interpersonal skills to his leadership role,” shared Assistant Superintendent Melissa Harder. “His experience as both a teacher and in technology provides him with an important perspective that ensures continued growth in our district’s use of technology in the classroom.”
