District to Provide School Supplies for 2018-19 School Year

Colored pencils in a circle

The Corvallis School District educates over 6,000 students in grades K-12. Similar to all public school districts, we have traditionally provided back to school supply lists each summer. Starting in 2016, we took a closer look at that practice and learned that those supply expenses quickly added up. In order to lessen the back to school financial burden, our district began to reevaluate and shorten required school supply lists.

For the 2018-19 school year, students are NOT required to purchase supplies for school.

All general classroom supplies (e.g. pencils, glue, crayons) have been funded by our district and purchased in bulk. For 2018-19, each school will provide a streamlined list of personal student supplies. If you are interested in donating items from school wish lists, please drop them off at the school office.

Please visit your school website for personal supply lists and contact the school office if confidential assistance with personal student supplies is needed.

Questions about this change may be directed to Assistant Superintendent Kevin Bogatin at 541-757-4857.
