Corvallis School District Graduation Data Released

The Oregon Department of Education released graduation data today for the 2021-22 school year. Once again, the Corvallis School District continues to outperform the state in four-year graduation rates. The district’s overall graduation rate for 2022 was 89 percent, an increase from the district’s graduation rate of 88 percent in 2021 and 7 points higher than the state. In terms of the number of students, 469 out of 529 graduated with their 4-year cohort in 2022, compared to 484 out of 560 in 2021.

“Our district has shown a consistent trend of graduation rates near 90 percent, which is an improvement from the past,” shared Superintendent Ryan Noss. “I am very pleased to see our four-year graduation rate for students with disabilities increase to 82 percent this year after hovering near 65 percent for the last five years. With a larger cohort of students this year, this speaks to our districts’ special education teams and their dedication to our students with disabilities.”

Additionally, the district’s students who are Former English Language Learners graduated at a rate greater than 95 percent, increasing from 94 percent in 2021. This rate exceeds the district’s overall graduation rate. “Having a strong dual language K-12 program has significantly contributed to the success of our incredible students,” said Noss. 

There are areas that require ongoing focus.

• The four-year graduation rate for Hispanic/Latinx students decreased to 82 percent this year, down from 92 percent in 2021. 
• The rates for Students Experiencing Houselessness and for Students Navigating Poverty have increased, from 52 percent to 57 percent and 75 percent to 79 percent, respectively. While these increases demonstrate growth as schools move further from the COVID-19 pandemic, there is still work to be done. 

Superintendent Noss added, “I am proud of the Corvallis School District’s role in preparing students for their futures. Our staff are essential in supporting our students to achieve this goal and see what it means to have a diploma and be ready for the next stage of their lives.”
