2023 Black History Month

Each February, the Corvallis School District observes and honors Black History Month as a time for collective education and reflection. Black History Month provides many opportunities to honor countless examples of courage, resilience, generosity, empathy, and resolve. In observing Black History Month, we have an opportunity to deepen our understanding of our history. This month matters, and in the words of Martin Luther King Jr, “the time is always right to do what is right.”

During this month of February, we encourage those in the community to seize this time to learn and do more, to engage in courageous conversations with others, and celebrate this Black History month with empathy and openness.
