What is the program?

The Corvallis School District Mental Health & Wellness program is a behavioral healthcare program embedded in our school system. We provide mental healthcare services to enrolled students and their families at no cost to them. Our program is dedicated to improving the mental wellbeing of our students and the school community overall.

We offer Individual, Family, and group therapy as well as skills training for students. Our providers come from a diverse set of backgrounds and training and have a wide variety of skills to offer our school community. Since our goal is to increase access, we provide general therapist services which allow us to serve a wide variety of students.

To most effectively serve our students and families, requested services will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

We are able to support students with a variety of mental health struggles such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Attention issues
  • Substance misuse/abuse
  • Suicidal ideation
  • Post Traumatic Stress
  • Family discord/stress
  • Body image/identity

The Corvallis School District Mental Health & Wellness Program was founded in 2019 to increase access to behavioral healthcare services to students and families from historically marginalized communities. While the program is available to all students currently enrolled in the district, we focus our limited resources on serving the following students populations first:

  • Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
  • Students who identify from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and 2-spirit communicate.
  • Students, whose families have experienced poverty, especially where this has been multigenerational.
