At last night’s school board meeting, the Corvallis School District joined school districts throughout Oregon in celebrating January as School Board Recognition Month. The Corvallis Public Schools Foundation Executive Director Angela Hibbard provided sweet treats for the board in gratitude for the board’s commitment, dedication, and partnership to improving educational opportunities for students. High school students Jayden Wang and Marie Wells also showcased their talents at the board meeting to express appreciation for our board members. Jayden performed a captivating monologue, and Marie performed a musical piece previously featured at the State Thespian Festival. You can watch their full performances on the meeting’s YouTube recording starting at 21:47.
“Every January, we celebrate the school board in recognition of the hours you volunteer and all you do to support our students and community,” shared Superintendent Ryan Noss. “My sincere thank you for all you do in service to our students, staff, and community.”
More about the School Board
The primary role of the school board is to establish policies that help the district set priorities and achieve its goals. This is accomplished in partnership with the superintendent by implementing policies and programs to meet the learning needs of all students.
