Martha Calderon

Martha has worked in mental healthcare for 10 years and has been with the MH&W program for 2 years. She has been in education for 20 years.

Martha’s clinical approach is person-centered, which means she believes that actions and reactions are motivated by tendencies to reach our utmost potential; either mentally, physically, spiritually, or emotionally. Martha’s work with individual and family counseling is rooted in Narrative, Attachment, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing and Solutions Focused theories.

Martha has an affinity for working with marginalized and disenfranchised communities. She has and continues to be dedicated to social justice and works to dismantle Anti-oppression practices. She spends her time outside of the district working alongside grassroots communities and trains on mental health and racial equity throughout Oregon. She brings this perspective to both her direct work with clients as well as her leadership in the Mental Health & Wellness Team.

Martha values this work because she believes in the goodness and strength of people. “Life has many challenges, but it is also full of incredible connections, relationships, and moments of joy. I love what I do and I feel honored that people share their stories and allow me into their journey.”
