Staff Wellbeing and Retention
Due to the extraordinary times we continue to live in we are making the following calendar changes to support staff and students.
Non-school Day
Our district will be closed on Friday, November 12 so our staff and students can recharge. All buildings will be closed. There will be no virtual work or learning planned for that day. This day will not need to be made up this year, as we continue to meet the required instructional hours. Our partners at The Boys and Girls Club of Corvallis will be open on November 12. Please contact them at 541-757-1909 for more information.
Early Release and Late Start
There will be a 2-hour early release each month at the elementary/middle school level. There will also be a monthly 2-hour late start on a Thursday and Friday at the high school level.

Staff Wellbeing and Retention
The Corvallis School District recognizes the hard work and dedication of our staff in supporting our students and families amidst extraordinary challenges. We know that each of us are working through the trauma from the pandemic and that is a heavy load to carry. We recognize this work results in unprecedented amounts of stress that impacts the mental health and wellbeing of our staff.
Our teachers, support staff, and administrators at every level have gone above and beyond each day to serve our students and families, often sacrificing time they need to take care of themselves.
We recognize decisions about school schedules impact families and add additional strain. The levels of stress in our staff are incredibly concerning, and as a district we need to provide opportunities for staff to take care of themselves and ensure we are able to retain them. This requires a long term investment in our staff to ensure they can continue to provide the standard of education and support we anticipate as a community.
Community Appreciation
The Corvallis Public Schools Foundation and the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce are partnering with local businesses to recognize and provide appreciation to staff for their hard work and dedication to supporting our students and families. You can help us meet these goals by reaching out to CSD staff to share your appreciation and gratitude for the work they have done and continue to do.
