Children who will be 5 years old as of September 1, 2021 are eligible to enroll in kindergarten at the school in their boundary area starting April 19. Student Transfer Window dates will be announced later this spring.
The registration process is online. Information about online registration and what to expect during kindergarten is available on the district website at https://bit.ly/CSDKinder
Documents showing proof of age, address, and immunizations are requested as part of the process and may be mailed to the school office. A directory of schools is available on the district website. Franklin K-8 is the district’s only non-neighborhood boundary school and is not yet open for transfers for the 2021-22 school year.
“The kindergarten enrollment and information night looks different again this year,” noted Assistant Superintendent Melissa Harder. “We are looking forward to welcoming kindergarten families into our district and schools will be announcing family information nights that may be virtual or in-person. The COVID-19 pandemic has required many changes to school operations and while we have moved this process online this spring, we are hopeful that we will be welcoming our kindergarten students and families into our school buildings next fall.”
Once families have submitted information through the online process, school office staff will be in contact to confirm the enrollment is complete.
For those families who are interested in the non-boundary school option (Franklin K-8) or requesting a transfer to another school, transfer openings and the transfer request process will be announced later this spring.
