Families, staff, and the general public are invited to the second Boundary Review Open House to ask questions and provide feedback about the current scenario for middle and high school boundary adjustments. The open house will take place February 18 from 6-8 pm at Linus Pauling.
The map is available at the link below. Similar to our first open house, an online survey will be available from February 18 – 23.
The Boundary Review process incorporates the district’s guiding principles, land use data, enrollment assessment, and school capacities. Through a series of six meetings, the task force has examined boundary scenarios in order to provide a final recommendation to the superintendent on how best to balance enrollment, primarily at our middle schools.
- March 3, 2020: Final task force meeting
- March 5, 2020: Superintendent to provide a boundary adjustment recommendation to the school board
- April 9, 2020: School board asked to vote on boundary adjustment
- July 1, 2020: New boundary areas in effect for middle and high schools
While the task force’s charge does not include policy or program reviews or revision, district administrators are reviewing the current transfer policy concurrently with this process. Assistant Superintendent Melissa Harder will provide a transfer policy revision recommendation to the school board in March. The recommended policy will continue to prioritize siblings for transfer requests.

The Working Map includes the following shifts for middle and high school attendance:
(A) Shift Jefferson boundary area students from Witham Hill area and neighborhoods north of Circle Blvd. from Linus Pauling/CHS to Cheldelin/CVHS
(B) Shift Jefferson boundary area students from Oak Creek area from Linus Pauling/CHS to Cheldelin/CVHS
This scenario means that current 5th-grade students living in the boundary adjustment area would enter 6th grade at Cheldelin Middle School and 8th-grade students would enter high school at Crescent Valley High School beginning in the 2020-21 school year.
