Today Superintendent Ryan Noss announced the hiring of Nikki McFarland as the Secondary Schools Coordinator in the Corvallis School District Teaching and Learning Department.
Ms. McFarland has been Assistant Principal at Crescent Valley High School since 2016 and has also worked as the assistant principal at Cheldelin Middle School. She moved to Corvallis with her family in 2015 from Bellingham, Washington where she taught Biology and Environmental Science and served as both Dean of Students and Assistant Principal at Squalicum High School from 2002-2014. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Planning and Geology and a Master of Education in Secondary Science, both from Western Washington University. Ms. McFarland is a National Board Certified Teacher and was a Fulbright Teacher Exchange participant in the Czech Republic during the 2008/2009 academic year.
“Nikki has a strong instructional background,” notes Superintendent Noss. “She has built strong relationships in our district and has been a part of the district’s equity training since 2015. She will be a strong contributor to the Teaching and Learning team and we are excited about her taking a leadership role at the district level.”
A search to fill the vacancy for Crescent Valley High School assistant principal will be conducted later this spring.
